The summer of impeachment is here! The day dawned cloudy but mild. We didn't have enough people for the Peace Bus so we took cars, one from Manassas and one from Woodbridge. We in Woodbridge loaded our IMPEACH HIM signs, quilts, water, sandwiches and snacks, Moya's flyers that she and the United for Peace and Justice Group had so kindly included us in. In the Manassas contingient Dave Hersh brought a Barney kite that he marked with a black magic marker IMPEACH - as if to tell George Bush to go fly a kite.

Fun at April 28- Impeach on the Mall

We had enough people to do a scaled down IMPEACH! on the Mall, after a few movings around and quilt readjustments it came out enough to take pictures - hope so at least. George Ripley worked tirelessly on this effort, and he deserves kudos for arranging the strings to line the wonderful unmentionable word and it took a lot of work to be so flexible to scale down the effort when the hoped for numbers didn't arrive. George you are wonderful! Thank you for all you do.

The VFPAA had a wonderful time networking with our buddies in the Washington Area Impeachment Fund (WAIF), Alan and Larry - George was so busy running things as I said before - and we also wish to welcome Stephen Hayes, a Herndon resident who has also worked with the Prince William Peacemakers, and mentioned Illana. I was also honored to met Moya Atkinson from United for Peace and Justice. Greg and David spoke so highly of you I was looking very forward to meeting you at last.

Keith Martin came up with new lyrics for the activist Lennon classic, "All we are saying, is throw the bums out!" As the picture was taken and we waved our arms people were singing this song with this as well as the original lyrics

It was nice to meet people from www.worldcantwait.com - they did such a beautiful job organizing the January event. I look forward to other events they have.

The Washington Post managed to give us A-4 coverage, if only to gently snark at the low attendence.

Happy Impeachment Summer, everyone! May it be a summer of peace, love and accountability.

Our next meeting will be May 3rd at 7pm at the Silver Diner in Springfield, VA (right on Franconia Rd). The major agenda item is the Davis Meeting on Monday.
